Minnesota Renewable Energy Society
Who We Are:
The Minnesota Renewable Energy Society (MRES) is a member-run, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in Minneapolis in 1978 and incorporated in Minnesota in 1979 to promote the use of, and to engage in advocacy for, renewable energies in Minnesota through education and through the demonstration of practical applications. MRES is involved in education, awareness, and advocacy efforts for all forms of renewable energy, with a particular emphasis on solar technologies.

Laura Cina, Managing DirectorLaura manages logistics and reporting for the grant as well as promotes solar training opportunities in the state and works to develop a network of people within the solar industry. She coordinates and leads the Minnesota Solar Advisory Committee to help determine the path of the solar industry and Minnesota's needs for solar training. |
Our Goal for Minnesota:
It is our main priority to establish a high quality industry standard of solar training across the State of Minnesota through collaboration and knowledge sharing. We believe it is necessary to coordinate training efforts to effectively and proportionately develop qualified installers and other solar professionals in conjunction with demand. We have begun to encourage all of the institutions and instructors we have been communicating with to consider becoming ISPQ Certified. It is a priority for us to have our solar training programs all be ISPQ certified by the end of the 5 year grant.
